Hekildo was born in the small hunting village of Tol, where archery and trapping skills were heavily practiced.  Growing up with a very supportive background of fellow hunters, Heklido's bow and arrow practice soon surpassed even the master archers that had been considered legends.  At the age of 8, he was already a Beji and found great companionship with his young Guardian.  The quiet and reserved young hunter eventually left his tiny hometown and set off for greater and stronger prey - as he was easily bored by the passive game found in his village's outskirts.  Crafting bows and other weaponry, Heklido made some gold for himself and used it solely to travel further and further abroad.  As his skills improved steadily, his taste in targets changed to more dangerous foes; heavily armored giants and serpentine dragons kept him entertained.  It was not long before traders from various black markets called on him to take down the most fearsome and often rarest monsters for their spoils.  Heklido had little interest in what material he could gain from his slayings, but enjoyed the (usually illegal) missions given to him, as it kept him busy and allowed him to travel as much as he pleased.  Soon he was well known by authorities and various organizations across the Grasslands, both those wanting to arrest him or catch him for bounty, and those who wanted such a skilled sharpshooter among their ranks... and one that could provide all the targets and excursions he could ever want.

Tomwin was obtained by Heklido from the Grassland Temple while the boy was still quite young, making the pair nearly inseparable.  Tomwin's personality seems to be the exact opposite of his partner's; where he is reserved, the Guardian is loud and boastful, often drawing all the attention he can in a room.  Though often rattled and obnoxious, Tomwin is incredibly intelligent and observant, and tricking him is nearly impossible.  Together, the pair make a deadly team in both hunting and assassination.  The bird especially enjoys his share of tracking; so long as he gets a share of the spoils - namely choice meats and fat.
